Sending flowers for the birth of a new baby

by Loan Pham on June 18, 2020

Sending flowers to the parents of a newly born baby is one of the most popular occasions for which flowers are delivered by Melbourne florists. In particular, flowers are delivered to maternity wards of hospitals in which the mother gave birth. This usually occurs because often the family and friends sending the congratulatory flowers are either located overseas, far away, are a workplace group or simply not sure whether they should visit the hospital. Traditionally flowers sent for a new birth help convey your congratulations, love and support.

Quite often in the store we receive phone calls from elated grandparents or parents who are keen to welcome a new new member into the family. Similarly, friends of new parents are work colleagues regularly contact us to organise a delivery of flowers to their friends starting on the parenthood journey. We typically would recommend an arrangement of flowers in a gift box. This would limit the effort required by the new parents to maintain the flowers. Boxed flower arrangements have their own bowl of water concealed in the box base and are easier to take home when the mother is discharged from hospital in a few days.

Being located in East Melbourne, Kellee Flowers is surrounded by several hospitals where babies are delivered. In particular the Epworth Freemasons Maternity Hospital, located at 320 Victoria Parade, one block away from Kellee Flowers florist shop. If that hospital is at capacity, often new mothers are relocated to ward 1 West at the Epworth Freemasons Hospital located at 166 Clarendon St, East Melbourne. This hospital is located literally across the road from Kellee Flowers. A little further up the road is St Vincent’s Private, where the maternity wards and birthing suites are located on levels 3 and 4.
